September 5, 2017, Lamar, CO — The City of Lamar will be participating in Colorado Cities & Towns Week, Sept. 11–17, 2017, which highlights and celebrates the value of municipal government and acknowledges the employees and volunteers who make our community a great place to live, work, and play.
Municipal government is the level of government closest to most citizens, and the one with the most direct daily impact upon its residents. Through Colorado Cities & Towns Week, municipalities from across the state will participate in activities to showcase and celebrate cities and towns and the many services they provide.
“We have been pleased to have been able to participate in Cities & Towns week since the very first year” said City Administrator John Sutherland. “We think it’s really important to pause once in a while and appreciate the incredible amount of work that goes into making a strong, healthy, vibrant community. That’s what we’re up to here, and our whole staff and the citizens of this fair city are together in making this a great place to live! To those who don’t live here, I’d like to extend an invitation to come on out to Lamar and see what you’ve been missing!”
Colorado Cities & Towns Week is sponsored by the Colorado Municipal League (CML), a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization established in 1923 and represents the interests of 268 cities and towns.
